As the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist, John supports the day-to-day operations of the finance team, managing the accounts payable and Nairobi studio finance operation functions for IDEO.org.

Prior to joining IDEO.org, John was the Human Resource, Operations , Finance & Administration Lead at NairoBits Trust–a nonprofit that leverages ICT to empower the underserved youth from urban informal settlements. He has also previously worked at Speed Bird Travel, Safaris Limited, and Nairobi Design Institute. In addition, he volunteers at Map Kibera Trust and The Sunflower Trust.

John, a certified public accountant and a full member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountant Certification (CPA-K), has an academic background in Finance (Commerce) and holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Management from the United States International University – Africa (USIU).

In his free time, he enjoys spending time watching football with his friends and families outdoors and hiking. John, often referred to as J, considers himself a great cook and likes trying out new restaurants and different cuisines.
