Over 14 years of practicing human-centered design across 45 countries, we have seen firsthand the value of centering communities when producing impactful and lasting solutions. Here, we discuss our experiences, lessons learned, insights, and takeaways from our community engagement work across a variety of projects from the continent. We hope these learnings will inspire designers and partners in their own community engagement initiatives, leading to more inclusive and sustainable solutions, built alongside those most impacted.
