Mike Peng is the CEO of IDEO, returning to the company after a career spent building creative cultures and new ventures around the world. Most recently, he was Chief Creative Officer at Moon Creative Lab, where he oversaw all design aspects of the organization, ensuring its new ventures were elevated by human-centered design and creativity. 

Mike first joined IDEO in New York, helping launch the office and leading its design research discipline, before co-founding IDEO Tokyo and expanding IDEO’s reach across Asia. There, he mentored designers, developed new offerings, and led client relationships and projects across the region. 

He has taught at NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (CIID), and is a visiting lecturer at the University of Tokyo, Keio University, and Kyushu University. Mike earned his degree in cognitive science, with an emphasis in neuroscience, from UC Berkeley. A competitive tennis player—his high school court is named after him—he’s also an avid hip-hop dancer who unwinds with reality TV and celebrity gossip.
