Daniel Martínez-Valle

Board Chair + CEO, Grupo Proeza

Daniel is a transformational global business executive and the CEO of Grupo Proeza, a portfolio management company building long-term business ecosystems in the industrial, agribusiness, and healthcare sectors through its companies Metalsa, Proeza Ventures, Citrofrut, and Proeza Healthcare. 

He is also an operating partner with Advent International, where he helps source and grow investments in the industrial sector with a focus on innovation and sustainability, and serves as an advisor to both Silicon Valley start-ups and multi-billion-dollar global corporations. From 2018 to 2021, Daniel was CEO of Orbia, a $7 billion specialty products company with 22,000 employees in 110 countries. There, he led a company-wide transformation—revamping the organizational structure, rebranding the company, and advancing its portfolio, including the acquisition of Netafim, the global leader in precision irrigation. 

Earlier in his career, Daniel was director of worldwide strategy and planning at Cisco and managing partner at Nebli Capital Advisors, a private equity and investment advisory firm based in Spain.

He holds an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in economics from ITAM, where he is a lecturer. Daniel is also a Fellow at the Tällberg Foundation and a Responsible Leader in the BMW Foundation Network.
