Senior Industrial Designer
Noel works as an industrial designer, specializing in physical solutions to complex, systemic problems. But when a physical solution just will not do, he is just as comfortable diving deep into service and systems design.
Before IDEO.org, Noel worked at Austrian design firm, Kiska, on everything from motorcycle parts to sportswear to the fountain pen all the German kids use in grade school. In a past life, he studied and worked for four years as a concept artist, designing for film and games. Noel shifted to more impact-driven design after a stint at NASA, where he saw how problem solving for real world challenges could create tangible opportunities.
He holds a BS in Product Design, with a Minor in Social Innovation from Art Center College of Design, in Pasadena, California. He has also backpacked, studied abroad, and worked in 35 countries—but if you ask him, he’ll say he’s just getting started.
