Born in Ethiopia, Dagmawit moved to the United States with her family at the age of twelve. As a 1.5 generation immigrant, she continuously strives to brew a balanced blend of the two cultures. Being the middle child of three girls, she experiences the special relationships that come from having a big sister and a little sister.
As the Program Coordinator for the Economic Prosperity practice, Dagmawit supports the managing director and the rest of the team in a fast-paced environment and wears many hats at any given moment. Before coming over to IDEO.org, she was working at Deloitte in Human Relations, helping to recruit some of the brightest professionals in the field.
Dagmawit studied International Relations and Conflict Resolution & Mediation at the University of California, Irvine. She studied abroad in Lyon, the gastronomic capital of France. She loves cooking, watching mini-series TV shows, and going to the beach. Her favorite time of day is twilight. Her idea of a perfect Friday evening is being surrounded by family and friends enjoying food & drinks. Most of all, she enjoys a good conversation.
